More about the Cheapster

Once upon a time (about three years ago), my husband lost his long-time job due to the poor economy. From there on after, for two years, he had LOTS of short term jobs that kept letting him go due to the economy. This led to my own discovery of how to live on less since we spent so much time living on unemployment.
Learning how to economize has always been a passion of mine, and I love to share it. From that passion, Fox Cities Cheapster was born.
Other things you might not know about me:
1. I graduated from college, but I'm now working on a two year degree from FVTC to be a medical secretary.
2. I met my husband when his singing group came to my church's picnic. I wonder if that makes me a groupie?
3. I'm a stay-at-home mom whose house is a constant mess (hey, I have a 20 month old).
4. I pick up accents easily. People are constantly asking me where I am from and I have to tell them I've always been from Northeastern WI (although I lived in Minnesota for almost 10 years--not continually).
5. My favorite author is Agatha Christie. After rereading one of her books, I start to sound a bit British.
6. I'm one of those lucky few who seems to be able to both cook and bake well.
7. I'm a crazy editing machine. I've left notes on restaurant menus when I see spelling errors.
8. I can read backwards almost as well as I can read forwards.
9. I once planned on becoming a music teacher.
10. My husband and I didn't get a chance to eat our wedding meal because it was all gone (buffet style) by the time we were finished with pictures. Later we had Arby's together instead.
